2016 saw the US, or parts of it, having to contend with forest fires in the West, Hurricanes in the East, and political upheaval all over. Shared services location strategies comes fraught with numerous disaster risks to consider.
This interactive report provides a timely comparative analysis of some of the common natural risk factors (windstorms, floods and earthquakes) across U.S. shared services hotspots.
It appears the decision-makers have been doing their homework. Apart from California and Washington state, most SSCs have chosen relatively ‘earth-quake-proof’ locations on the East Coast and in the South. But flood risk is another matter (Houston, we are calling you out!)
