She has a strong track record in continuous improvement and innovation, process analysis and optimization, portfolio analysis, service management and industrialization, digital transformation, and change program management. Maria is known for her high motivation, assertiveness, and commitment to excellence, alongside her strong leadership and team collaboration skills.
Currently, as the Global Head of Operations Engineering and Transformation at Allianz Services in Munich, Maria has spearheaded the agile transformation and establishment of the Global Service Line Operations Engineering and Transformation. Over the past three years, her leadership has driven significant growth and productivity gains, including a threefold increase in full-time employees and a substantial boost in operating profit. She has played a pivotal role in creating an agile organization that provides scalable and robust business and technology enablement solutions and services, such as business analysis, business acceptance testing, automation and IT service management.
Maria is deeply committed to people development, fostering a highly motivated, engaged, and customer-centric team. This dedication is reflected in an Employee Engagement Index (EEI) of 87% and a Net Promoter Score of 78% in 2023.
Prior to her current role, Maria held the position of Head of Group COO Office and Executive Assistant to the Board at Allianz SE, where she acted as a liaison to senior management and key stakeholders, supported the Global Operations & IT strategic agenda, and led key transformation programs. Her expertise in strategic and digital transformation has been instrumental in advancing Allianz Group's Operations & IT initiatives.
Maria's career also includes roles as a Senior Product Architect and Expert in Group Operations at Allianz SE, where she was instrumental in establishing and developing the Allianz Product Lab and leading other key transformation programs.
Before joining Allianz in 2013, Maria was the Head of Continuous Improvement and Customer Satisfaction in Europe for an online market research company, driving digital transformation agenda, optimizing processes and operations through Six Sigma initiatives, leading to increased customer satisfaction and enhanced customer experience.
Maria holds a B.S. in Economics & Information Technology from the Academy of Economic Studies in Bucharest, Romania, and is a certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt.
She resides in Munich with her husband and young daughter, successfully balancing her professional accomplishments with a fulfilling personal life.
