Newly Updated: Intelligent Automation Universe 2021

Over the past five years, SSON Analytics has been tracking the adoption of automation in Shared Services and GBS. With proven benefits such as improving service resilience, time-saving, and increased reliability, it is no surprise that we’ve seen tremendous progress in the Intelligent Automation (IA) space where slightly more than a third of global SSOs are at a mature stage of automation (i.e. scaling up processes, actively digitizing data or even testing or deploying advanced cognitive capabilities like AI and ML).

However, with that being said, two-thirds of global shared services – a significant segment – still have ways to go in their automation journeys. 31% are in the their early stages of automation (less than 3 years), another 30% in the “planning of proof of concept” stage, and 4% who have not started at all.

Introducing the Intelligent Automation Universe

To help the SSON community delve into the complex and ever-expanding IA space, we have very recently updated one of our four popular interactive data tools – the Intelligent Automation Universe (IAU). As its name would suggest, this is SSON’s vendor-agnostic go-to platform for users to explore all things related to IA (RPA, cognitive, and AI) and gain insights in one place. In it you can find three sub-sections:

What is the Software Vendor Catalogue?

The software vendor catalogue catalog lists out the an array of IA solution providers in the market and allows users to visit each vendor profile to get a better understanding of their a) Solution Capabilities, b) Technical Differentiators, and c) Customer Footprint.

There is also an added functionality for users to select up to 5 vendors and conduct an apples-to-apples comparison in a simple and easily digestible table. This table is not meant to be a recommendation engine. Its purpose is to allow for a side-by-side comparison of how the vendors you have selected stack up.

To be listed in the IAU, the vendors had to complete our latest 2021 IA solution capabilities questionnaire which includes questions around installation configuration, ability to define Machine Learning models, process mining/discovery capabilities, being able to connect to external third party BPM technologies, licensing model, availability of the mobile app for production management and alerting, and much more. If you are going through the process of vendor selection, the IA solution capabilities list also helps you understand the key questions you should be asking.

Please note that we are constantly updating and expanding the catalogue to feature more vendors. If you are a solution provider and interested to find out how you can make your company and solution be a part of the IAU, contact us at info@sson-analytics.com

What is in the Case Study Catalogue?

In the Case Study Catalogue, you can browse real-world IA use cases to better understand where and how other companies have successfully implemented IA including the challenges faced, the solution, the results, and the Return on Investment (ROI).

If you are a solution provider or a practitioner and interested to find out how you can feature your IA success story in the IAU, contact us at info@sson-analytics.com

What is in the Market Report Catalogue?

Here you can find a wealth of knowledge on Intelligent Automation. This is an amazing resource library specifically for IA containing all of SSON’s latest in-depth reports, articles, and content pieces.
