In its 8th year, this exclusive by-invitation only benchmarking study recognizes the tireless efforts of SSO/GBS professionals, and aims to celebrate and capture the exceptional performance of leading brands are performing in key areas such as Automation, HR & Talent, Payroll, P2P, O2C, R2R, and more.
The results of the benchmarking study allows both participants and the wider SSON community to benchmark themselves against the aggregated results of the Top 20 SSO/GBS, gaining valuable insights and opportunities for improvement.
How are the Top 20 Most Admired SSO/GBS identified?
The selection process is split into two parts:
1. Shortlisting companies by utilizing cross-channel data from SSON's global community of 200,000 members:

- SSON Impact Awards: Winners and finalists over the past one year
- SSON R&A World Best GBS Award: Winner and finalists over the past one year
- SSON R&A Top 20 Most Admired SSO/GBS: Alumni over the past two years
- SSON Judging Faculty: Recommendations by SSON R&A and SSOW judges globally
- SSON Global and R&A Advisory Board
- Other Research & Awards
2. Performance Study & Industry Feedback

- Shortlisted companies are invited to participate in a comprehensive benchmarking study.
- The Top 20 Most Admired SSO/GBS will be chosen based on the results of the benchmarking study, complemented by invaluable industry feedback.
If you aspire to be shortlisted as one of the Top 20 Most Admired SSO/GBS for 2024, here's what you can do:
- Apply for the SSON Impact Awards
- Apply for the World's Best GBS Study & Award
- Join the vibrant SSON events and community to showscase your SSO/GBS and share your inspiring stories, amplifying your chances of being shortlisted as one of the most admired in the industry
If your organization is shortlisted, here's what happens next:
- Receive an exclusive invitation to participate in the benchmarking study. Participation is free.
- Upon accepting the invitation, you'll receive benchmarking data collection forms to submit metrics data for each of your centers globally. Rest assured, all data submitted will be strictly confidential.
- Receive an aggregated benchmark report at the end of the study.
- Based on the results of the benchmarking study and industry feedback, SSON R&A will announce the 20 organizations who are recognized as the Top 20 Most Admired SSO/GBS. The final decision rests with SSON R&A leadership.
2025 Timeline:
- Receive an invitation to be part of the Top 20 Most Admired SSO/GBS benchmarking study in early June 2025.
- Deadline for benchmarking study data collection: 15th July 2025
- Completion & Delivery of Benchmarking Reports: Early September 2025
- Announcement and Promotions of the Top 20 Most Admired SSOs & GBS 2025: Early September 2025
Accessing the Top 20 Most Admired SSO/GBS Benchmarking Results:
- If you are one of participants of the benchmarking study, an aggregated benchmark report will be sent to you once the study is completed
