What is the World's Best GBS Study & Award?
| Given the extraordinary interest and growth in the GBS model, SSON Research & Analytics (SSON R&A) launched a timely new World's Best Global Business Services (GBS) Study & Award to identify a truly outstanding GBS – one that reflects the innovative and forward-looking policies enshrined in the model, and delivers clear value-add beyond process efficiencies. The study focuses on four key areas:
The study collects qualitative as well as quantitative data on how GBS are delivering value. The winner of this award will represent a truly outstanding and progressive GBS with proven track record in delivering impact and value to its customers and organization; will prove that it plays a monumental role in driving digital transformation; and will prioritize talent through a successful recruiting, retention and training strategy. The study and award is open to all GBS globally, with the winner announced and celebrated at all of SSON's flagship events - Shared Services and Outsourcing Weeks in North America, Europe, and Asia. The winner will also be highly profiled on SSON's various channels (i.e. websites, digital events) and widely promoted externally. |  |
How do I apply for the World's Best GBS Study & Award?
- 2025 applications are now closed. 2026 applications will open 1 September 2025 (closing November 30 2025)
- Applications are free
- Please note, the application must be made in the name of the GBS leader.
- For GBS that make the shortlist, we will be following up with a 20-30 minute call with the GBS leader. Thus, it is critical that the GBS leader has signed off on the application, and verified the content.
Important Dates & Deadlines for the 2026 Study & Award
- Applications open: September 1, 2025
- Applications close: November 30, 2025 (no extensions)
- Winner Announcement: March 2026 @ SSOW North America
- Winners will also be celebrated and acknowledged at SSOW Europe (May 2026) & SSOW Asia (October 2026)
How are the applications evaluated?
- The study contains both quantitative as well as qualitative questions, with answers weighted through a points system. The winner is the GBS with the highest score.
- The top few GBS with the greatest overall score will be shortlisted for an interview to verify their responses and elaborate more about their key GBS achievements and projects.
- The final decision rests with SSON R&A’s leadership.
- Please note that we will only be evaluating completed applications. Incomplete forms will be excluded.
